Ericeira sits on a stretch of cliff north of Lisbon that has been a fishing village for centuries and a surf destination for decades. In 2011 it became Europe's only World Surfing Reserve — one of six in the world — recognised for the quality and variety of its breaks. Ribeira d'Ilhas, Coxos, Pedra Branca: each wave has its own character, its own crowd, its own season.

Thais drew the Ericeira illustrations from observation and memory, working in her studio in Costa da Caparica. The retro palette — warm ochres, deep Atlantic blues, the white foam of a breaking lip — reflects the visual language of the place: sun-bleached tiles, painted fishing boats, the cliffs turning gold in the late afternoon.

This collection brings together everything MATHIS makes with Ericeira as its subject: surf posters, framed prints ready to hang, ceramic mugs. All drawn by hand, all printed with the same attention to detail.
