Hi ! I'm Thaïs and my journey begins in Costa da Caparica, Portugal.
That's where "Mathis" work was born: it's a name, but also the expression of my feelings. Drawing is a way of explaining the vibe present around us and bring many foreigners to stay once felt it (like me).
Behind the linework: I start by sketching by hand, I prefer to keep things simple and honest. Each piece is drawn from a retro soul, sun-washed, echoing the 70s and grounded in the now. There's always something emotional behind the print: a memory, a place, or just a moment that made us pause.
These illustrations are postcards of a life lived slowly, far from the business: they're meant to hang on your wall, sit on your mug, and fridge. Slipping into your day like a deep breath.
At the heart of it all is connection. To place. To stillness. To what we often miss. I draw through "Mathis" brand what we forget to see — and help remember it with warmth.
